Silhouette Eyeglasses
I have a pair of 80s style Silhouette Eyeglasses with "Woodstock" on the hinges from the Snoopy Cartoon series?
Can anyone tell me anything about these eyeglasses? They are a small ladies size or large youth, and one earpiece has a mostly legible "Feature Syndicate Inc" imprinted on the inside. The other ear piece says "130", which I think is a pretty small size. I can't find any eyeglasses listed anywhere that were manufactured or distributed by United Feature Syndicate, and I kind of hope that means these are rare & auction-able....!
Feature Syndicate is the cartoon show owners, who were being paid a fee for the rights to use their name by some frame supply company. Feature Syndicate had nothing to do with the frames except to license out their name.
There were also kids frames with Flintstone decals, and just about every Disney character too at one time or another.
That 130 you see, is just 130mm , the length of the temples ( arms) on the frame. That is just 1/3 of the frame size.
I'm curious though why you mention Silhouette...I can't imagine Silhouette being involved with Snoopy frames. Silhouette is a brand on it's own.
Sorry to disappoint you about the value also....it wouldn't have any. The only optical frames I have ever seen or heard of being of any interest to collectors are old metal frames, like pre- 1940's
